Wouldn’t mind keeping my own job right now.
My boss finished up today on his last day and as far as i know he is not being replaced. Who knows for sure as the manager the next level off hasn’t let anyone know for sure as keeping a secret for one’s self rather than communicating seems to be the norm lately. I am all for confidentialty where needed but secrets for the sake of secrets is best decribed as bullshit. I have held various security clearances under the offical secrets act tht i could tell you about but then i would need to kill you so plans for who is the boss now the boss has left is small fry.
Now i wouldn’t care so much if not for the fact that in the absence of communication people weren’t assuming that i had moved up into the position that my boss occupied and expecting me therefore to do the work that he did. I am one of three people at the level so i have enough of my own work without the need to be doing some other work that is not mine and i am not getting paid to suffer through (and do). I do admit that it is kind of flattering that people have just assumed i have slipped into a higher role but i know for a fact my pay cheque says no such thing and until it does, i am sure as hell not doing anything more. Hell my own contract runs out 30 June so i wouldn’t mind just keeping my own job right now.
