Happy Birthday to the Queen
Its the one time of the year that I am grateful that Australia has yet to leave the Commonwealth, when they give us a holiday for the Queen’s birthday. I would prefer to have my own country as a Republic rather than tied to a “mother country” half way around the world and the outdated concept of a monarch.
Now the strangest thing is that it isn’t even her birthday on Monday or even this month. Her birthday is in April sometime so I looked it up on the gossip of all things true and it appears that the Queen’s birthday is tied to approximately the birthday of King George V. The old queen!
