Hitman

As last night was Saturday night, the night of love and romance everywhere and where single people everywhere i did what comes naturally and … hell who am i fooling, i stayed home alone with the dog, a pizza and a movie.

The choice of movie for the night was Hitman which i never quite got around to seeing at the movies as i thought it would be a be a “big screen, big sound” kind of movie that deserves the cinema experience. And on that count i was right.

Now i must state at this point that i am normally careful when seeing movies based on computer games, they can prove to at times be rather one dimension and more than a little … disappointing. But in this case $5.95 was something i was this time prepared to risk to have something action packed rather than romantic to watch. It worked out to be an ok movie that i reasonably enjoyed.

The story tells the story of Agent 47, a man raised since birth by “The Organization” to be a hired killer. He is hired to kill the president of Russia which he does, only to have the president appear alive the next day alive and unharmed. What follows is a manhunt of huge proportions as 47 takes the mistress of the president and tries to unravel what happened as he dodges Interpol, The Russian FSB and his own organization wanting to kill him.

Now let me be straight, its no cinematic masterpiece but it did pass the saturday night by just fine. Maybe if i had ever played the games then i might be disappointed that it wasn’t true the games but i can’t say.
